You have...
- Those people who end up on DePauw Naps by falling asleep in a pod in bum alley
OR
- Those people who take 3+ espresso shots and also get a large coffee or caffeinated drink from Cafe Allegro throughout the day
So which one are you?
This article is just some food for thought if you're stuck trying to decided between the two.
I try to balance naps and pushing through. Sometimes I'm so tired I have to sleep. Most times though I try to push through it because I have a ton of work, and also I also sometimes wake up from naps even more tired than when I started the nap. I think the key is if you take a nap, make it short so you wake up at the end of a sleep cycle more awake than before.
ReplyDeleteI am the kind of person who WILL fall asleep if I can't stay awake, so I take naps that are less than 20 minutes. It's incredible how a short nap can help. I also try to get enough sleep so that I don't need to catch up on hours of sleep during the day because again, I will fall asleep. I also don't drink coffee, so I'm definitely the first of the two options.

ReplyDeleteHhaha Lexi of course you would post about naps! Naps are the best. I don't always take naps but when I do I feel so much better. Even if you are losing that study time to sleep it is more beneficial because you wake up feeling revived and it is easier to study and retain material after resting. Of course, I know people who drink a ton of coffee too and for some reason that just doesn't benefit me at all most of the time and I would always rather sleep than drink coffee.
ReplyDeleteI'm definitely the napping type, but I typically go back to my room to take naps. However I am not a good napper. I will tell myself I'm going to nap for an hour, and then I end up napping for 2-3 hours. It becomes a waste of time... I am definitely not the type to just drink a bunch of coffee and push through though. I just can not do it! I know there are ways to take smart naps that are a perfect length. I need to figure out how to do that.
