So...accidentally found this on you tube. I am not suggesting you listen to all of it, just maybe the first minute or so, The creepy dark people who created this music manage to activate some very worrisome emotions for me personally.
Specifically, what sounds do you hear that provoke an image or situation? What makes the overall sound dark and suggestively "evil".
The water slushing behind the constant buzz really gets me...I think about the scene from The Never Ending Story when the boy is slugging through he mud with the horse who sadly doesn't make it out alive.
The main reason I posted this is because the music in this album utilizes unlikely sounds heard in nature that most music today completely ignores. The sounds of nature play a huge role in how music existed before the evolution of man/creation (whatever you believe).
The creepiest part of this for me is the synthesized voices... it's like dolls or robot humans that look very like but not quite human. I feel like the synthesized voices threaten to suck out the humanity from my soul.
ReplyDeleteThis is just like the Never Ending Story! I love how music can make you feel a certain way about what you are watching and can enhance your senses. This song is very creepy but at the same time I really like it because it evokes pretty strong emotions! I also love the role of nature in this song. It of course casts kind of a darker shadow over the nature sounds, but at the same time putting them together is super interesting to listen to!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh I watched Never Ending Story so many times as a kid. It freaked me out. This song does remind me of that! It's creepy but I really like it. The eery creepiness is something I really like. It would be cool to get to be a part of a creepy piece like this.
