  3. Great tips. I always find it hard to practice over the summer. It's a time to take a break, so I am not motivated to practice. Finding different ways to change up my practice routine might help motivate me.

  4. Thanks for these tips, Mariah! I'll be working at a non-music summer camp all summer, so I've been looking for interesting ways to find time and space to practice. I can see myself getting so wrapped up in the camp and losing track of my practice schedule. I'll definitely need to set goals, practice a specific time each day, and utilize mental practicing.

  5. This was all very helpful! Like Julia, I will be at a bind with practice space this summer. Thank you for sharing this wisdom with us!

  6. I totally agree with Julia. It's always hard for me to find a practice space in my house since my piano is right in my dining room in the middle of my house, it's hard to practice without disrupting my other family members from their daily tasks. However, I try to have consistent one hour voice lessons every week with my voice teacher from home and I find that it really helps keep me practicing consistently, whether it's just translating my piece to practicing in the shower.

  7. I am fortunate to have a keyboard in my room where I can play out some notes if I need to or if I need to warm up. I have my own space to practice, yet sometimes I feel like I am still interrupting my family downstairs or being too loud. It can be hard to practice sometimes when they are in the house, yet when I am alone in the house it is very easy to get practicing done. Thanks for the tips!
